“Crossing the Magister’s Gate”
Arriving, Orienting and Preparing for the Next Stage World Gathering
A half day process offered for the Next Stage World Gathering of Pioneers and Organisation Leaders
in the Medieval Town of Rhodes on Sunday 22 April 2018.
*Magister: The leader/top of the “Hospitaliers”, the Order of St John Knights who resided in Rhodes for 200 years after retreating from the crusades in the Middle East.
Magister – Master – Mastery – Leadership & Knighthood
What are the Next Stage Paradigms?
What inspiration can we get from this “invincible”, walled city in building our Next Stage Leadership, seeing through our burning questions and feed our capacity to move forward as we arrive in this place and we prepare ourselves for embarking in our 5-day gathering and journey together?
We invite you to this starting point of our NSW Journey to offer a space of landing, arriving, connecting with our bodies & minds and the place. We offer this spacious, generous WELCOME to you in synergy with the culture and metaphor-rich natural and built environment of the city of Rhodes. Through a relaxed, meditative walk and lightly guided tour in the magical and UNESCO World Heritage Medieval Town, we will be focusing on our own leadership and evolution questions that bring us here, to this special gathering. We are going to orient ourselves through crafting new (deeper?) questions inspired by the “compass” that this town and its cultural richness along the story of the Knights, the “Hospitaliers” can offer. They created this walled, “invincible” city and system of administration, warriorship as well as hosting their own organisation and the community based on their unique skills and diversity. We take this heritage on board to discover the “New Knighthood” that our turbulent and yet ever so promising times are calling forth. In a light and playful interaction with this unique architecture we will be marking our personal and collective journey in the city’s “structure” and architecture elements like: the moat, streets, gates, fountains, bridges, ancient Greek traces of temples, byzantine churches or icons, ottoman baths, floors and ceilings, squares and courtyards.
The journey starts with/from our bodies… they are vehicles of being still and moving, they are our homes as we arrive to a new “home” and community that this Gathering is.
Then we open up more and more into the external environment to be oriented and inspired.
…Ask the questions that will help us navigate and cross the Magister’s Gate. Questions like:
-Who, what and how is/are the Magister(s) in me and my Organisation?
-What are the requirements for crossing that gate?
-What are my “supplies” for the journey?
- Cote of arms: What are mine/ours?
-Where/How am I heading towards?
-Wholeness? Self-Organisation? Evolutionary Purpose?
-What kind of support do I need? –Who/What can be my support(ers)?!
-At the sping, at the fountain, at the Knights’ street and “head-quarters & departments”, at the holy spaces and oracles, at the hospital of the “Hospitaliers”: key questions for every “entry & check in”.
We will end this journey with a cleansing gift, a sound cleansing gift hosted in a special, mystical place in the Old Town, a place of enhancing health and healing for all those pilgrims that used to arrive at “CrossRhodes” on their way to the “Holy Lands”. Sound Bathing, blessing our bodies and minds with the gift of soundcleansing at a space of health and relaxation… Then we are ready and energised to START!
With Appreciation and Excitement for Welcoming You on behalf of Rhodes and the NSW Gathering,
